at this time apple was not popular, seen as for kids at school, un able to be customize or upgraded, expensive.
this product was kinda like a “woah what is this?” moment, aka steve jobs was back.
3 years later the ipod came out, right after 9/11 and cheered a demoralized but patriotic nation.
the rest is history.
