iPhone Duo Vs 18 Pro Max- HANDS-ON Spec Review!!
Apple has FINALLY done it!! The iPhone Duo is officially here alongside the iPhone 18 Pro Max, not a iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra and I’ve gone HANDS-ON with its Specs to compare Apple’s first-ever foldable iPhone against its ultimate traditional flagship!
And these are two VERY different iPhones.
The iPhone Duo gives you TWO displays: a compact 5.4-inch outer display and a MASSIVE 7.6-inch folding inner display that’s 50% larger than the display on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The Duo can fold, stand on its own and even run apps side-by-side with completely new experiences inside iOS 27.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max sticks with its huge 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display, giving you the traditional iPhone experience we’re already familiar with.
Performance is incredibly interesting because BOTH phones use Apple’s brand-new A20 Pro, complete with a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU, Neural Accelerators and Dual 16-core Neural Engine.
But the CAMERAS are VERY different.
The iPhone Duo gets a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system with Main and Ultra Wide cameras, but there’s NO dedicated Telephoto camera. The iPhone 18 Pro Max gives you Apple’s ultimate Pro camera system, including the new 48MP variable-aperture Main camera and dedicated Telephoto camera.
Unlocking is different too. The iPhone 18 Pro Max keeps Face ID, while Apple has brought Touch ID BACK for the iPhone Duo, integrating it into the side button.
Battery life is surprisingly close. Apple rates the Duo for up to 44 hours of video playback using its outer display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches up to 45 hours on the US eSIM model.
But then there’s the BIG difference: PRICE.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299, while the iPhone Duo starts at a MASSIVE $1,999 for 256GB.
That’s a $700 difference!
You’re essentially choosing between Apple’s ultimate traditional iPhone with its superior Pro camera system, or paying considerably more for the incredible versatility of that enormous folding display.
So after getting my hands on BOTH, which one would I actually buy?
And more importantly, should YOU spend $1,999 on the brand-new iPhone Duo, or save $700 and get the iPhone 18 Pro Max instead?
