I have an older Late 2013 iMac. I wanted to see if it could use Ubuntu Linux and Thunderbolt eGPUs for using local AI. This is not yet for fine tuning AI, but for initually running them locally.
The 2013 iMac has a Thunderbolt 1 port, but it might be able to use the eGPU, just not at full TB3 bandwidth.
