Step-by-Step Repair Process:
Left Speaker Cup Removal:
Remove the earpads (01:11)
Use a SIM card removal tool to disconnect the headband (01:20)
Unscrew and remove the speaker housing (02:04)
Pry off the speaker housing (02:32)
Remove the speaker screws (03:57)
Take out the speaker (04:36)
Unscrew all T1 screws now exposed (04:47)
Remove T3 screws (05:14)
Take off the ribbon shields (05:20)
Disconnect all ribbon cables (05:28)
Remove the Bluetooth board (05:57)
Pry up the speaker ribbon (06:17)
Unscrew the 5 screws underneath the speaker ribbon (06:34)
Pry out the ground wire (07:23)
Carefully remove the ribbon (07:37)
Transfer all removed parts to the new left speaker cup (08:01)
Right Speaker Cup Removal:
Remove the speaker housing (14:05)
Pry out the speaker housing (14:12)
Take out the speaker driver (15:14)
Disconnect the speaker housing ribbon (15:36)
Remove the battery from the speaker housing (16:04)
Disconnect the battery (16:51)
Take out the power board (17:39)
Remove the charger port & microphone (17:54)
Remove the headband jack (19:14)
Reassembly:
Reassemble the right speaker housing
Install both speaker housings onto the headband
Reattach the earpads
Enjoy your fully restored AirPods Max!
