Either the Apple Pencil was not places properly on the magnetic charger base or the iPad went into a deep sleep mode to save battery like and stopped charging the Apple Pencil Pro.
Once I thought I placed the Apple Pencil not right on the magnetic charger but the second time, the pencil looked normally placed but was still at 0% battery after not using the iPad for almost 1 week.
This might be a software bug and if you don’t use your Apple Pencil Pro for a long time, it’s better to unpair it from your iPad and store it away from the iPad to prevent it from automatically pairing again then draining the battery.
