Installing ChromeOS Flex on an Apple IMac

My New $50 Computer

Beevornomics for the Whole Family

I was making a video for AskBeevs, showing disabled people how to get an affordable computer to learn AI.

So, I started looking for cheap laptops—$15 cheap—on Marketplace.

All I was after was an i3 with 4GB of RAM.

Then, I stumbled across an iMac from 2012.

You know, one of those beautiful ones you’ve always wanted.

The seller had no clue about its value. It worked fine for her until she ‘reset it,’ and now it wouldn’t load past the Terms and Conditions page.

She had been trying to sell it for five months.

I told her, “My 3-year-old son wants it. I’ll give you $50.”

She accepted.

I brought it home, stuck a memory stick in it, and booted up Chrome OS Flex.

Ten minutes later, it was up and running.

I checked the specs in Chrome://system: i5 at 3.2GHz, 24GB RAM, NVIDIA GForce, and a 1TB SSD. 😂

Full-on graphic design workstation for $50, running a Linux-based system that can operate off a memory stick!
