BRACES: 7 TEETH KNOCKED OUT IN CRASH | Face trauma during jaw surgery pre-op

This is the story of when I was involved in a bicycle crash and knocked out 7 of my front teeth.

Unfortunately I was also in the middle of jaw surgery pre-op and I had braces fitted the year previously and my teeth were perfectly straight! I was very upset that my jaw surgery might be cancelled because of the accident. However braces actually ended up saving my teeth from being knocked out fully. This happened 1 year after I began braces treatment, and 2 years before the actual jaw surgery.

I’ve tried searching several times for information on other peoples’ experiences of teeth trauma or injury during braces treatment but could never find anything, so I decided to make this video.

I was given excellent care from Eastman Dental Hospital as well as University College Hospital A&E, for which I am eternally grateful.
