Apple just rolled out the M5 MacBook Air, and I managed to get my hands on one early. This is a first look and unboxing, straight from the larger box to that moment you lift the lid and realize, yep, Apple still knows how to make a thin laptop feel like a magic trick.
The headline upgrades are the kind that actually change day to day life: 512GB is now the starting point, the SSD is faster, and the new sky blue color is genuinely excellent in person. You also get that color matched braided MagSafe cable, which is the most unnecessary detail I absolutely love.
Preorders start March 4 and they hit doorsteps and stores March 11. I also run through everything else Apple dropped today, from the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pros to the new Studio Display and Studio Display XDR. Are you a 13-inch Air person or a 15-inch Air person?
