AirPods With Cameras: Apple Leaked Its Own Demo
Apple’s camera-equipped AirPods just turned up in Apple’s own demo video — found inside the macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate. Here is exactly what it shows.
MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris pulled the file out of the release candidate. It is not a render or a mockup: it is a finished demo for a product Apple has never announced.
WHAT IS IN IT
A man lifts a book toward his ear and Siri answers, “with Visual Intelligence, your world becomes savable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later." There is even an alert for when your hair covers the AirPods: “To get the most accurate information about things in your environment, make sure AirPods are not covered."
WHAT THE CAMERAS ARE NOT
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports tiny infrared cameras — the same kind of sensor behind Face ID. You cannot shoot photos or video with them. They exist to feed Siri what is in front of you.
WHEN, WHAT IT IS CALLED, WHAT IT COSTS
Gurman says as soon as September, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. The name is not settled: AirPods Pro 4, or AirPods Ultra. AirPods Pro 3 sit at $249, and this tier lands above that.
AND ONE STRANGE THING
In Apple’s own video, you never once see the camera.
