Do NOT Buy an Apple Watch Right Now (Series 12 & Ultra 4)

Apple’s Series 12 and Ultra 4 are about seven weeks out – and if you’re shopping for an Apple Watch right now, this is the worst possible moment to buy one. Here’s what Gurman is reporting, what watchOS 27 just told us about Apple’s chip plans, and why I think waiting is the smarter money.

No redesign. No Touch ID. A faster chip and some health software. On paper that’s the most boring Apple Watch update in years – so why am I telling you to hold off instead of grabbing one of the deals happening right now? Because of what Apple just did to the watchOS 27 support list, and what that tells you about how long the watch you buy today is actually going to last.

Everything about the Series 12 and Ultra 4 in this video is rumor, primarily from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg. Nothing is confirmed and Apple hasn’t announced anything. Accurate as of late July 2026 — I’ll have the real buy-or-skip breakdown after the September event.
